Check out this video of the new volume. Debuting this weekend at MoCCa in NYC.

Hey there.  Going to SPX 2011 this weekend?  Expect to see a table(D2) with the old Sundays banner flying with some old and new stuff for sale or perusal. Here is the rundown:

Melissa Mendes:

Melissa is debuting her freshly printed, 100+ page Xeric book, Freddy Stories at SPX. This is a treat. If you are familiar with Melissa’s previous Freddy comics, this book has all those stories plus like 40 more pages of new comics. Get one for the kid in you or in your life.

Melissa will also be doing a reading at Atomic Books in Baltimore on Friday before SPX with a ton of other great cartoonists. We recommend going to this event. It is always fun and Atomic always comes through with the free drinky-poos…if you are into that sort of thing.
 Joseph Lambert:

Our pal Joe will be with us this weekend as well as hanging out with the Secret Acres folks where you can get Joe’s amazing I Will Bite You.

This book is causing a ruckus and getting nominated like 2 times for Ignatz awards(given away this very weekend). Come say hi to Joe. He always has some superfresh prints and mini comics for sale. We hope Joe gets a brick or two this weekend. That would be a well-deserved perk for this hard working man.

Oh and we almost forgot that Joe is in the new and last Mome available at the Fantagraphics table.

Sean Ford:

The always reliable Sean Ford will be in attendance with copies of Only Skin his super awesome mystery-ghost-murder-comedy comic book series. Maybe he’ll have a special print for sale as well. Maybe something like this?

Sean is plugging away at finishing up Only Skin for its publication next year as one book by Secret Acres. Things are happening!

Chuck Forsman:

Let it be known that I am now writing about myself. I will have The Ground is Soft and a new mini comic called The End of the Fucking World for sale. This new comic will be cheep and isn’t for kids.

I am also in Mome 22 and will be signing at the Fantagraphics booth, 11am to noon on Saturday and noon to 1 on Sunday. Come by and talk to me because I expect I will be bored.

Unfortunately, Alex Kim won’t be with us this weekend. We’ll be missing some much needed laughs due to his absence. But we have it on good authority that AK is working on something big. SOMETHING BIG.
Sundays cover

And of course we will have copies of Sundays 2 and the latest, Sundays Forever Changes. We hear that Warren Craghead may be wandering around the show this weekend. Maybe he’ll draw in your copy of Sundays Forever Changes for you, you lucky duck.

Okay okay. Have a good weekend. I hope your basement isn’t flooded.

Sundays cover

Welp. We did it.  Yes, we made another book and any at MoCCA this weekend can get your paws on one.  I am really proud of this volume.  This is the first volume where we left the majority of the editorial responsibilities up to just one of the four editors.  That lucky one was me, Chuck.  I have no idea why I said I would but I am glad I did.  We have 21 amazing contributions this time around and the book clocks in at 134 pages.  We have some of the usual faces and lot of new faces in this one.  The first obvious change is our cover was designed by someone other than us.  That was one of my first things I wanted when I set out to make this book.  And the real first and only name I thought of was Damien Jay.  Damien always has had an amazing knack for designing some of my favorite covers.  And his color choices always just hit me in the right spot.  Luckily when I asked him he said sure, even though he was about to have a baby with the equally talented Minty Lewis.  So huge, huge thanks to that guy for doing this at a time when his life was going through a major change.  Oh and Damien managed to contribute a story as well.  Whattaguy!

This book has a really loose theme, as have most of our Sundays volumes.  This time out I instructed the artists to dance on the theme of Forever Changes which I also subtitles the book.  I didn’t give too much direction just suggestion and inspiration.  This book is filled with a lot of my friends, heroes, and people I only know from seeing their work online.  I just want to thank them for indulging me on making my dream comic.

So who is in this book?

Pretty cool, right?  You have to see this book!  I’ll put it up for sale online after this weekend on the Oily Boutique.  We are numbering these suckers this time and there are only 300 of them and that is it.  No reprinting.  Here is a video of it:

We’ll be at MoCCA of course.  Our traditional festival to unveil a Sundays book.  We will be at table H15.  Just look for the row with One Percent Press, Alec Longstreth, Tugboat, and Secret Acres (we are right next to Secret Acres), and you’ll run into us for sure.

I stole this map from Alec Longstreth(Thanks Alec!)

Also at the table will be another anthology called Kids put together by Melissa Mendes(she’s a friend of mine) and Jose-Luis Olivares.  Both books were printed up at CCS this past weekend so there is a lot of natural love between us.  I read the book yesterday all the way through and it is so solid and amazing.

Another book being released at MoCCA is Sean Ford’s Only Skin #7!  This is the last one!  I’ve watched this book grow from a project in our first year at CCS into the highly sought after self-published comic.  It’s amazing to witness Sean’s dedication to completing a project this big.  We are very proud of him and hope he does well.  Oh he already has.  The collected Only skin will be printed next year by our Mocca neighbors, Secret Acres.  Speaking of Secret Acres, they are debuting a highly-anticipated book by another one of the old Sundays crew, Joseph Lambert.  his book I Will Bite You will be dropping like a bomb.  Stop by and get that one for sure.  I saw the book last weekend and pooped inside of my pants.

And finally I leave you with some photos of production fun:

Sundays 2 an 3 are now available to order on the OILY BOUTIQUE.

Sundays will be at Expozine in Montreal this coming weekend. We will have copies of Sundays 2 and 3 as well as a bunch of other lovely things. Oh and it’s fucking free to get in! Melissa Mendes and Chuck Forsman will be manning and womanning the table so come by and say hi!

Friends Ken Dahl(monsters) and Max de Radigues(l’employé du Moi)  will also be around as well as a billion other artists and zine people that we have never met.  It’s going to be awesome.

Rob Clough, over at the wonderful site, has just reviewed SUNDAYS 2 along with a bevy of other CCS comics.  Read what he had to say here.

Here are some pics of the Sundays set up at MoCCA just this past weekend. Even with all the heat we managed to have a good time. Sorry if we missed you at the show. You can catch us in 2 week’s time down in Charlotte, NC at HeroesCon in Indie Island. It’s our first time there and we are super excited. We hope to meet a lot of new folks and hang with old friends. Come along if you can.

Oh yeah. Now you can buy the brand new Sundays 2 right here for $15(no extra shipping charge). We will ship out your book at fast as humanly possible.

Hello friends.  Please come see us at MoCCA.  We will be sitting upstairs in the skylight ballroom.  Don’t forget to ride the antique elevator.  It’s worth the wait.  We will be near the CCS, One Percent Press, and IKJK tables.  We are very excited about the book.  We hope you come and look at it.  Until then,  here be the cover drawn by Joey Lambchops and hand-pulled by A Krim.
